Club News

Sorry for the late write up, but it was a huge weekend with 3 Home games on Saturday, the WHOOA Cup that Night followed by another 5 Home Games for the Juniors on Sunday.

In a mixed bag, Reserve Grade kept their unbeaten run intact with a strong performance against the SUNS, the girls continued their improvement coming from behind to snatch a Draw against the LIONS and 1st Grade whilst beaten on the day, can still take a lot out of the game considering some of the players we had out and the lessons learnt.

On the Junior’s front, the U/9’s & U/11’s continue to improve every week despite playing against bigger and in most cases older oppositions. Unfortunately, the U/14’s girls tasted their first defeat, but can take plenty out of the game given they had a number of key players unavailable. As for our U/15 & U/17 boys, really impressed with what’s coming through the pipeline. Both teams played really well with the U/15 recording a good win against Albion Park to remain undefeated whilst the U/17’s beat second placed Figtree/Lions to move to third on the ladder.

The WHOOA Cup, well what can I say, another successful night with the ‘Uncle Bob Touched Me’ trained “The Sheep Shagger” flying home to snatch victory in the highly sort after feature race. Also a huge congrats to Imogen Clarke on being selected Miss WHOOA for 2021 in what was a very well presented field of attractive young ladies. Not so sure about the girl in pink though.

A huge thanks to BT, Roz & Lauren for organising the race guide, Matty Hickmott for another great night behind the microphone and to Geoff, Glenn, Tony, Gary and anyone else that helped out behind the Bar. WELL DONE.

This weekend there is no football due to the Long Weekend, however that shouldn’t be an excuse to give training a miss as we still have a long way to go.
