Two really good wins by the boys and a narrow loss to the girls showcased a big day of footy at the Nowra Showground.
1st Grade pretty well dominated from start to finish whilst Reserve Grade started slowly and had to work hard all game against strong opposition to get the 4 points.
After getting thumped in Round 1 by North’s and trailing by 12 points at the first break, the girls showed real character and could quite easily have won had they taken their chances going down by 3 points in a real nail biter.
A couple of special mentions this week include Ollie Halls & Isabella McConville’s first senior game of AFL and the inclusion of Troy Cole & Corey Radley for the first game for the Tigers. Both Troy & Corey bring a wealth of experience to the Club whilst Ollie & Izzy played really well on debut and look to have a bright future with the Club.
Ona disappointing note, unfortunately, it looks like Jack Batson may have broken his wrist which after all he has been through in recent times must seem like the pits. Still knowing Jack’s determination, you can bet he will be back in no time at all. Good luck mate, you deserve a bit of luck.
A big thanks to all the usual contributors that helped set up, pack up, run the sidelines and help out in the canteen. Got pretty busy today and with Tony & Graham unavailable in the afternoon, we were really pushed.
As I said during the Match Day Awards, we don’t expect the players to do a lot, but if you see a line up at the canteen and are able to jump in a help out or even jump on the BBQ, or can give Gaz, Les, Glenn and Co a hand to pack up, then please do.
